Stripe Billing Integration Overview

Rillet integrates with Stripe Billing to keep your customers, subscriptions, invoices, payments, and credits in sync in real time. This ensures your accounting records are always up to date without manual exports or reconciliations.

Use this overview to understand the data flows, and click into each section for detailed guidance.

Customers

Stripe customers are automatically created in Rillet once there is an active subscription or open invoice. Key details such as customer name, email, and addresses sync instantly. For more information, see 📄 Sync Stripe Customers into Rillet.

Subscriptions

Active subscriptions in Stripe appear in the Contract List in Rillet with status Imported (Stripe). You can navigate directly to Stripe or view the GL impact of each subscription from Rillet. For more information, see 📄 Sync Stripe Subscriptions into Rillet.

Invoices and Payments

Invoices sync from Stripe as soon as they are created in Open or Paid status. Payments, fees, refunds, and chargebacks are reconciled in Rillet through the Stripe Bank Feed. Payouts are treated as transfers from Stripe to your bank account. For more information, see📄 Sync Stripe Invoices and Payments into Rillet.

Credit Notes and Voided Invoices

Credit Notes in Stripe sync into Rillet as Credit Memos. Whether they reduce an open invoice, issue a refund, or create a customer balance, Rillet automatically tracks and applies them. Voided invoices also sync as credit memos. For more information, see📄Sync Stripe Credit Notes and Voided Invoices into Rillet.

Revenue Recognition

Revenue recognition for Stripe invoices is based on the billing period set in Stripe, or on supply dates if subscriptions are not used. You can also adjust revenue dates directly in Rillet. For more information, see📄Revenue Recognition with Stripe in Rillet.
