Closing the books at the end of each accounting period locks prior financial data and prevents changes to previously reported information. This ensures that historical records remain accurate and consistent across all reports.
To Close the Books:
Go to Close Management > Checklist.
In the upper right corner, verify the latest open period displayed.
Click Close/ Reopen Books.
Click Close to apply changes.
Once closed, the period is locked, ensuring prior financial information cannot be modified.
To Reopen the Books:
Go to Close Management > Checklist.
Use the close period selector in the upper right corner to select the prior month.
Click the More Options menu and select Reopen Books.
Note: Only Admin users can reopen the books.
