To enable API access:

  1. Go to the Setup menu in Salesforce.

  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Administration > Users > Profiles.

  3. Click Edit next to the profile you want to update.

  4. Scroll to the System section and expand Administrative Permissions.

  5. Click System Permissions.

  6. In the middle of the page, click Edit.

  7. Locate the API Enabled checkbox and select the checkbox if it is not already enabled.

  8. Click Save.

The profile now has API access enabled.
