How do I mark a customer as churned?

Generally Rillet will automatically recognized churn on a customer if the following two conditions are met:

  • In the previous month, the Customer had an ARR value greater than $0.

  • In the current month, the customer’s ARR value is equal to $0.

Churn Example

In this scenario, the customer Brex has a subscription contract that ends on December 31, 2024.

  • On the contract screen, the end date is clearly shown.

  • In the Total MRR view, the customer’s recurring revenue is visible through December.

  • In January 2025, Rillet automatically shows churn in the MRR Changes view.

What if I want to show churn prior to the customer's actual end date?

If you need to display churn earlier (for example, during renewal negotiations), update the contract’s end date using ARR Overridesarrow-up-right.

What is if I don't want to shown churn when Rillet automatically calculates it?

If you don’t want churn to appear even though the contract has ended, you can also adjust the contract’s end date through ARR Overridesarrow-up-right.

For more details on ARR calculations, see the ARR/MRR (Recurring Revenue)arrow-up-right guide.
