Copy Contracts

You can copy an existing contract to quickly create a new one with the same details. This saves time and helps ensure consistency when creating similar contracts.

When you copy a contract, Rillet opens the contract builder with information pre-filled from the original contract. You can review and edit the details before confirming the new contract.

Before You Begin

Make sure that:

  • The original contract already exists in Rillet.

  • You have permission to create contracts in your workspace.

Copy a Contract from the Contracts List

Follow these steps to copy a contract from the list view:

  1. Go to Accounts Receivable > Contracts.

  2. Locate the contract you want to copy and click the three dots (⋯) in the Actions column.

  3. Select Copy contract.

Rillet opens the contract builder with the original contract’s information pre-filled.

Copy a Contract from the Contract Record

You can also copy a contract directly from its record:

  1. Go to Accounts Receivable > Contracts.

  2. Open the contract you want to copy.

  3. Click the three dots (⋯) in the upper-right corner of the contract page.

  4. Select Copy contract.

The contract builder opens with the copied contract details.

Review and Create the New Contract

After copying the contract:

  1. Review the contract details and update information as needed, such as:

    • Contract name

    • Close Date

    • Start Date

    • Duration

  2. Continue through the contract workflow:

    • Review products

    • Review invoicing schedules

    • Review revenue

  3. Review the summary.

  4. Click Confirm Contract to create the new contract.

The new contract is created and appears in the Contracts list.

Notes

  • The copy contract process is the same for standard and multi-entity contracts. If the original contract belongs to a subsidiary, that subsidiary is pre-filled in the copied contract and can be edited before confirming.

  • Copied contracts inherit data from the original contract, but you can edit all fields before confirming.

  • Revenue may be locked if the original contract includes a minimum commitment.

  • Copying contracts is useful for recurring or similar customer agreements.

  • The new contract is created as a separate record and does not affect the original contract.
